Erwin Ramirez, 19

Died May 2, 2010 at 12:15 a.m.

Erwin Ramirez, a 19-year-old Latino, was shot and killed Sunday, May 2, in the 300 block of South Harris Avenue in Compton, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Homicide detectives responded to a report of shots fired about 1:30 a.m., the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said.

When they arrived at the location, they found Ramirez suffering from several gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene, said Lt. Cheryl MacWillie of the Los Angeles County coroner's office.

A second victim, who was not identified, was wounded and taken to a hospital where he was expected to survive.

The shooting is believed to be a gang-related incident, authorities said.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call the sheriff's homicide bureau at (323) 890-5500.

Aurelia, how the heck you know black crips did it? You don't know who did what and race did it. It could have been a a latino gang or a black gang or an independent thug . More blacks kill blacks than latino kills blacks...and latinos kill latinos than blacks kill latinos
