Ezra Davis, a 15-year-old black male, was shot in the upper body on Saturday, Jan. 31, 2009, in the 800 block of Washington Place in Long Beach, according to the Los Angeles County coroner's office.

Police responded to a call that shots had been fired at 12:04 p.m., and discovered him lying on the sidewalk wounded, according to Long Beach Police Department records. Ezra was taken to a hospital, where he died, police said.
