Francisca Montes, an 80-year-old Latina, died Tuesday, Feb. 23, in the 2100 block of East 130th Street in Willowbrook, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Her death was initially considered a possible homicide, but through further investigation, the coroner's office now believes it to be a natural death. A final cause of death in her case has been deferred as officials continue to do more tests. The results will be disclosed in six to eight weeks, said Ed Winter, a spokesman for the office.

[Updated Feb. 28, 2011: Coroner's officials said Montes' cause of death was undetermined. She suffered from sepsis and "infected decubitus ulcers" or bed sores although it is unknown if the conditions caused her death.]
