Francisco Aviles, 42

Francisco Aviles, identified by the Los Angeles County coroner’s office as a 42-year-old white man, was stabbed to death Friday, Oct. 28, in the 9500 block of South Beach Street in Watts, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

[Note: Although the coroner's office listed Aviles as white, Los Angeles Police Department officials say he was Latino.]

Officials responded to a radio call about 10:15 p.m., and the victim was taken to St. Francis Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 10:49 p.m.

According to coroner's records, Aviles was stabbed multiple times, with wounds to his head, hip and torso.

Investigators said they are looking for a man they identified as Samuel Hernandez, 28, in connection with the homicide. The homicide does not appear to be gang-related, said Det. N. Kouri.
