Frank Evans Jr., a 23-year-old black man, was fatally shot Tuesday, April 10, in the 700 block of East 83rd Street in Florence, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.
Ed Winter, spokesman for the coroner's office, said Evans was approached by an unknown person and shot about 4:45 p.m.
Paramedics were called and the victim was taken to the hospital where he died at 6:40 p.m.
Winter had no information about the assailant.
