Frankie Ogburn, a 24-year-old black man, was shot and killed Wednesday, June 30, in the 1400 block of West 84th Place in Manchester Square, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.
Ogburn got into a verbal altercation with another person about 7:35 p.m., said Det. Young Mun of the Los Angeles Police Department's 77th Street Division, who is handling the investigation.
The person then pulled out a gun and shot Ogburn, Mun said. Neighbors who heard the gunshots called police. Authorities arrived and Ogburn was pronounced dead at the scene, Mun said.
Investigators have made an arrest, but they declined to identify the suspect until they finish discussing the case with the Los Angeles County district attorney's office.
Anyone with additional information about the case is asked to call Mun at (213) 485-1383.
[Updated July 14: Authorities arrested Randolph Patterson, a 57-year-old black man, on June 30 in connection with Ogburn's death.
According to the felony complaint provided by the Los Angeles County district attorney's office, he has been charged with one count of murder, one count of possession of a firearm by a felon and one count of possession of ammunition.
Prosecutors said Patterson has an extensive criminal history, including prior convictions for forgery, grand theft, grand theft auto, robbery and corporal injury on a spouse, cohabitant or fellow parent.
He is being held at the Twin Towers Correctional Facility in downtown. His next court appearance is scheduled for July 15 at the Los Angeles Municipal Court.]

I think it's sad that you reference the "white man" If you're from the hood you'd know it's the latinos and the "black man" that kill blacks. The White man doesn't hang in the hood. The white man doesn't pay enough attention or care enough about the hood to worry about you being extinct. Come up with a new hate symbol. That would be hard though. You'd have to look in the mirror.

This was not gang related it was domestic.And know he did not do anything to deserve being gun down in the street so if you dont know the facts please dont comment on it he has a mother and father that is grieving and a two year old son that cries for him every night so please be respectful of that.lets find a solution to this horrible problem of our youth being gun down.men stand up and be a solution and not the problem it could happen to one of your love ones next if we dont stop this non sense that is going on in the black and brown neighbor hoods

@Foclipz & 1x7hxxver you should know your facts before speaking on something. First off this was my sister in laws home, not a hang out. Second off this shooting was not gang related it was a result of an ongoing domestic situation between him and the mother of his son. She chose to involve other people and it ended tragic. Frankie's family grew up in this home so everyone, yes 8tray's new him since he was born and knew his family before he was born. too suggest they had anything too do with his death is insulting. At the end of the day there is a life gone for nothing, over a stupid argument. There is a mother who lost her son, a little boy who lost a damn good father, family who lost the light of their lives and friends who lost the most loyal and inspriring person they will ever have had the good blessings too meet. So before you start giving your half ass opinions, spitting on the graves of people you dont know, LEARN and stop judging, that's God's job, not yours.

i hang around this area and yes i knew this guy and can say he was not into the banging lifestyle like that. I have a cousin from 83gangster and i hang on colden st. This area is very dangerous almost as bad as my street 1x9 and budlong. The nachocrips and underclown crip are the ons mostly responible for shxxting on that street. The underclown crips used to fight guys from my are(ws 1x7)but for some strange reason THEY ARE NOT AROUND ANYMORE..mr 1x7 hxxverz is out

Hello well i was frankie gurlfriend i spent most of my time with him. This all happen because of a bitch. My nigga was a real one he will now be 24 foeever i no we all got to go one day but 24 is to young.i cant sleep at night cuzz i am so use to him being here with me he made my day when he walk through my door with that big smail on his face than he would do his lil dance an say what up kid strol up i no u got it lil mama. For all those making comments using secret names and not your God given name, you need to stay off of here speaking on a young man you knew nothing about. Frankie was my nephew and he will be truly missed. His death had nothing at all to do with gangs. Frankie's life was taken by a man that had no idea at all who God is. If he did he would understand that he took a life that was not his to take. Yet only God can judge and instead of you on here talking about gangs. You need to be hitting your knees praying for the young mans family that will truly miss him and the man who took his life. Please keep my sister in prayer along with Frankies son who will be with out his father whom truly loved him.

First and foremost,Lord bless my brother Frankie I pray his soul was saved and bless the hearts of all who loved him. I even pray for the person who killed Frankie, he's sick. For those of you who did not know my son, why are you makin comments about something you know nothing about. My son is gone over some baby mama drama who couldn't let him go on with his life.
