(800) 222-TIPS (800-222-8477)Gabriel Galan, a 36-year-old Latino, was fatally shot Thursday, May 26, in the 700 block of North St. Louis Street in Boyle Heights, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.
Galan was found down with several gunshot wounds, said Ed Winter, a spokesman for the coroner's office.
Authorities were called and the victim was pronounced dead at the scene at 10:38 p.m.
Winter had no other information about the killing.

Gabriel was funny, kind and a great artist...I wish the best to his wife and kids...to his mom and to all his relatives and friends. I can imagine how hard it would be to be with out him, but god would be there to help. Last time I saw Gabriel was about 15 years ago. I hope he had a great life with all his love ones. He is in heaven having some PULQUE with Frida y Diego and some other artistas...Descanza en Paz....love M...

He was a great father. A wonderful husband to his wife. A man that had no equal. Prayers goes to his family.

Not just another statistic. He was like a brother to me, My bestfriend. A person that stood against the worlds injustice. A person who helped & cared not only for his own family but the community. He reached many trough his words, trough his art and trough his demeanor.

I had the privilege of getting to know Gabriel and his family as they were my neighbors and I grew to love him and his family greatly and he was my husbands best friend. Gabriel was a great man who stood up for his community and unfortunetly he had to pay for that with his life. I hope the cowardly monsters who took that great man from this world will pay for what they did and for the pain they have caused the many people who loved him. Gabriel we cried for you but like I told Mike, "Gabriel would be on your ass if he knew you were crying he would want you to remember the good times" and we have and that is how we have coped with losing you. My prayers are with Lisa and her children for the heavy loss they have had to endure, I love you.

Gabriel was my very good friend but more like a brother he will be missed by all of us we will never forget him I hope those people that did it get caught soon so we could all have a little peace of mind that this will not happen to any other inocent families.we love and miss you carnal.

I knew Gabriel and he was a good man , He did not deserve this . I hope they find the so called person/persons

Gabriel was a great man I'm glad I can say I knew him for he was a great Artist and awesome friend. Lisa my heart goes out two you and your children. I havent seen you guys in about 10 years but you are in my prayer's

I knew Gabriel he was my friend but more like a brother he saw me grow up and become a little lady I will never for get him all his good advice he would give me love you always and miss you a hole lots !

His beloved Lisa and his kids were the light of his life. His family meant everything to him. I wish he would have had more time with them but I am sure they will grow up knowing and feeling how much he loved them.

Gabriel was a loving man who did everything he could for his famiy and friends. He was a well known accomplished and published artist who was tragicaly taken from us. the world lost a great man and we all lost a great friend. Gabriel Galan was my Best friend and I loved him as a Man would love a Brother! He never judged me or anybody because thats just the person he was! I miss you so much Gabriel and I'm thankful that I got to see you one last time before you left this world! I'll see around Bro! I love You Gabriel and You will never be forgotten! Rest in Heaven...

Hard to say its been 8 months now. So hard to live without your other half. No leads on his case, and at this point I'm only wishing that someone could come forward. Please know he was a wonderful Father, Friend & the Love of my life. Miss you Daddy!!! Happy Valentines Day. ;(
