Genaro Ramirez was the type of guy that would put a smile on your face no matter what. He was an amazing person and it is just hard to believe that he is gone . Genaro was one of the happiest person in the world and I am just shocked and upset because he was so young. No one deserves to die and especially him because now lot of people are suffering. But I know that my friend will be remembered like an angel that he is and he will remain in our hearts. Love you buddy):

Genaro Ramirez was my older brother he had just turned 19 less than a month ago.He got shot on the stomach around 2:40 a.m on Oct 17,2011 a block away from my house. He was almost 2 years older then me. He was a great brother,friend...a great person in general. He was just a person who would put a smile on your face,he loved to dance, rap,& box.He was well known for his goofy personality,he was 6'2 & looked mean at times but when you really got to know him you would think the total opposite. It sucks because just the day before he was telling me and my boyfriend he wanted to join boxing the next day...But he didn't make it. I love him so much he didnt deserve to get shot & die but i know he's is a better place now. I ask for whom ever reads this prays for my brother Genaro Ramierz Jr.

Genaro was such an amazing person, he always made me laugh when we hung out at school during our lunch time two/three years ago. He would always complain about how boring lunch was, he was always very out going. It's so sad to see such a great person not have the chance to live life the way he deserves to. RIP Genaro, we will always remember you.

To those who dnt believe in miracles there is a God. Not only did they take a son brother n friend they also took a father to b.my daughter Noemis dreams of marriage to her Loved one are gone but Jesus works in misterious ways.just wen all hope was gone for her and his family a lil ray of light from the heavens above a miracle of life from the life that was taken a seed was left to heal so manys pain. We will have a baby the news comes wen its the hardest on the day of his viewing my daughter tested positive. The sad thing is the miracle baby won't ever get to play with his Daddy.

I can't believe how someone can think they can just take someones life away. Only GOD can determine when and how. How dare someone decides to take someone elses life away and think they will be able to sleep every night. For the person that decided to pull the trigger that night. GOD SEE'S EVERYTHING AND YOUR DAY OF JUDGEMENT WILL COME SOONER OR LATER!!! I hope that you ask for forgiveness when you are face to face with the one above. LIFE IS THE ONE THING YOU CAN NEVER BRING BACK AND YOU JUST TOOK HIS LIFE LIKE NOTHING WITHOUT THINKING OF THE PAIN YOU HAVE CAUSED. RIP GENARO

may GOD bless his family... From what i read on here it doesn't sound like this kid was involved in any gang or wrong doing. Just curious to know what was the reason he was killed, mistaken identity, robbery? Does anyone know what might of happened?

— SO SAD
If you take a look at his FB, you will notice several references to a South Downey/North Paramount gang.

This wasnt because of gangs or somthing he did wronge just some cold hearted people with a dumb reson ..and who didnt care about all his dreams and didnt care about how his family and friends would feel :'( trust I know!

I just find it odd that they keep placing it under a bicycling fatality. The other thing I find odd is why lynwoods st. francis? There's the kaiser hospital off clark, then the downey hospital. It's sketchy if you ask me. Release the 911 call recordings. It's weird how tight lipped the dpd...why? I think the dpd is dirty if you ask me...no ones asking questions, the kind if gun used/bullets, tire markings, street cameras, something has to give....but then again they gotta keep revenue coming...downey studios is blinded by the dpd, money makes the workday go round.

— dpd is shady
St. Francis is better equipped at handling gunshot victims, than Downey Hospital or Kaiser.
