Guillermo Huitron, 22

Died June 5, 2010 at 12:02 a.m.

Guillermo Huitron, a 22-year-old Latino, died Saturday, June 5, less than an hour after he was shot in the 1200 block of West D Street in Wilmington, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Huitron was at a party in the backyard about 11:50 a.m. Friday when someone pulled out a gun and fired, hitting Huitron, said Ed Winter, spokesman for the coroner's office.

Authorities were called and 12 minutes later, Huitron was pronounced dead at the scene, according to coroner's records.

It appears Huitron was an innocent bystander, Winter said.

You do all realise that the rest of the civilised world looks down on you with regards to your pathetic gangs & murders.?!

— PabloUK, and we in this country are supposed to be impressed about Europe and its crime?

And the UK is something to look up to? What with the lunatic that murdered all those people, just the other day!! And the other nut who went postal on his elementary kids!! Yeah, you're a better example of a civilized world. Moron.

Swinecom3: Impressed with how few murders they have? Definitely. Once again you lack any substance to prove your arrogant boast. Making it up as you go along, Peewee. You're a legend in your own raisin sized mind.

Upuras, What does ur posting to syscom3 have anything to do w this particular homicide? I find it amazing how so many people display anger towards him or excuse gang activity by allowing their emotions to cloud the real issue. Can we stay focused people!

— Roger Upuras; Obviously you've never been to Europe. Have you?

Many cities there have areas that are so dangerous, not even the police bother parolling them. Of course you knew that didnt you?

Swiney3: Balderdash. Get your facts straight. The entire U.K. experiences fewer murders in a year than New York City alone.

So high and mighty for a complete gas bag. You blow more filth than BP.

Try Wikipedia, it might help if you could spot the U.K. on a map.

— Roger Upuras; and in my community, we have a per capita homicide rate far lower than London and the other major cities in the UK (including Europe).

By the way, we are talking about LA County, not NYC. Keep the subject germane.

And as any criminologist can tell you, it's very difficult to compare crime rates between Europe and the US because there are few similarities. That's another interesting thing we learned in CJ101 and geography 101. Becareful how you compare statistics. One thing thats interesting is how the UK reports its crime rate differently as compared to the US. Some statistics show that parts of the UK are more violent than many places in the US.

And of course the homicide rate as measured by firearms being the instrument for murder is higher than in Europe. But we get to own weapons unlike the Europeans because we have far more freedoms than they do. A trade off when measured against national and social priorities

But there is one thing for sure; nowhere in Los Angeles is there a "no go" zone where the police refuse to go.

Ha! You've just exposed yourself as the fraud we all knew you were. Your lengthy rant only proves that you are a narcissist with no foundation in facts.

Enjoy reading your words in print, don't you? And for Yuri: You just posted the same thing you are criticizing--can you spell hypocrite? You both need to learn how to communicate without making it up as you go along. And as a far as you SC3, you need to learn how to proof-read your drivel before you post it. I'm getting tired of reading your broken sentences and misspelled words.

Maybe you both need a refresher course.

Sillycom3: And just in case you didn't think anyone was really checking your facts, you have a lot to learn about "per capita."

The fact still remains: The U.K. has had fewer homicides every year than just NYC for decades.

You need some schooling, helium boy.

Roger, and what exactly is your point about the crime stats of the UK? As I stated, you cant compare the two as we're two different societies. A better comparison is the UK vs. France or Germany.

Do you have evidence to the contrary?

And stick with LA County, not NYC.

Who did it? When will that be reported? How can someone just "get shot" at a party and no leads? Was this person hanging out with a gang or at a gang party? 11:30am is awfully early for the unemployed to be awake, so this must have been a targeted killing.

Any updates?

— RepeatingHistory .... The deceased was murdered around noon time on a Saturday. Most people consider that a normal hour of the day.

As for no witnesses; long time readers of this blog know all to well how witnesses dissapear like sewer rats when there is a homicide at a party.

Syscom3, witnesses disappear because they fear for their life and nothing else. Once you are known to be a witness of a crime in the streets you become a target and believe me cops will not be able to protect you.

Roger Upuras...what in the world are you trying to prove?? you make syscom3 look like a genius the way you're trying to state your facts smh... you completely disregarded what he is trying to say. You keep stating he is wrong but there are absolutely no facts on your end to disprove him. And we're talking about LA..not NYC

Jag, thats why can give information that is anonymous.

Once you point the detectives in the right direction, they can usually make a case against them.

— syscom3
June 14, 2010 at 2:23 p.m.

Hey Jag, come on man! We need EVERYONE who witnesses a serious crime to come forward and nail the guy(s) responsible for all of our combined safety going forward. I for one would absolutely tell the police all that I know even if there is some risk involved. Just think if everyone did this and also if everyone stood with firm disapproval of the whole gang/crime culture. The world would instantly be a better place.

June 30, 2010 at 4:09 p.m.

Yea if I remember correctly, I think that possibly 2 suspects were detained and charged. Syscom, seems like the victim was an innocent bystander. I mean, it was a Saturday and he was at a party. Could have been a b-day party, family gathering, BBQ, etc. You never been to a party on a Saturday? Not every murder has some hidden agenda or meaning. Hate to bust your bubble but bad things happen to innocent bystanders. *SHOCKER*
