Hector Luis Sanchez Flores, 39, a Latino man, was shot in the head and chest near the intersection of Sunset Boulevard and Harvard in east Hollywood, and died at 11:05 p.m. March 28.
He was in the parking lot of a 99-Cents Only store in the 5200 block of Sunset at about 10:20 p.m. Wednesday, March 28. A white car pulled up and the occupants fired. A white woman, 44, was also wounded, and was listed in stable condition at a local hospital after the shooting, police said. The people in the car yelled a gang name common to the Boyle Heights area; police suspect they are members of a Latino gang.
