Henry Thompson Jr., 23

Died Aug. 17, 2010 at 8:32 p.m.

Henry Thompson Jr., a 23-year-old black man, was fatally shot Tuesday, Aug. 17, near East Monroe Street and Prospect Avenue in Carson, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Ed Winter, spokesman for the coroner's office, said Thompson was victim of a walk-up shooting, He was shot about 8:15 p.m. and taken to hospital , where he was pronounced dead at 8:32 p.m., according to coroner's records.

The shooting was not gang-related, said sheriff homicide Det. Gene Morse, who is handling the investigation.

An arrest has been made in connection with the killing, Morse said, but he declined to name the person arrested because the investigation is still open.

I will always love my brother. I pray that the individual who took his life realizes that it was wrong and asks god for forgiveness. Remember, you can always get mad at someone and yell at them and make negative comments to them. BUT remember, once you take a life you will never be able to apologize to that person. So, with that being said R.I.P. Hank. I love you!

I love you Hank! The kids do too...I was sad to hear this, and especially saddened that it happened in that neighborhood. My prayers go out to Mr. & Mrs. Thompson, his sisters, & all who were blessed to know the sweet,good at heart,crazy, work in progress, completely loveable Hank.
