Hermenegildo Huitron, 35

Hermenegildo Huitron, a 35-year-old Latino man, was shot to death at 911 Milwaukee Ave. in Highland Park about 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 3. The gunman drove up to Huitron and shot him several times in the chest, head and right arm.

Officers with the LAPD's Northeast Division responded to a shots-fired call in the area and discovered Huitron on the street with gunshot wounds. The shooting was gang-related, according to Officer April Harding, a spokeswoman for the Los Angeles Police Department.
