Isaac Parra, 17

Died March 31, 2009 at 11:15 p.m.

Isaac Parra, a 17-year-old Latino, was shot and killed Tuesday, March 31, in the 2200 block of West Merced Avenue in West Covina, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Parra and Jason Guijarro, a 19-year-old Latino, were both shot to death at about 10:30 p.m. while in a van at an intersection, officials said.

Authorities said the motive for the shooting "stemmed from a dispute between an ex-boyfriend and ex-girlfriend."

Soon after the shooting, Gerardo Fonseca Jr., a 22-year-old Latino from Arcadia, and Melissa Ann Goree, a 20-year-old woman from Baldwin Park, were arrested in connection with the killings.

Juan Martin Anda, a 24-year-old Latino from Baldwin Park, was apprehended by West Covina Police about a month later.

On Feb. 18, 2011, a jury convicted Fonseca and Anda of two counts of first-degree murder and one count of conspiracy to commit murder. The Los Angeles County district attorney’s office said they opted not to seek the death penalty for the two men. The defendants face lifetime imprisonment without parole.

Additionally, the jury acquitted Fonseca and Anda of two counts of attempted murder and one count of making a criminal threat. Goree was also acquitted of all charges.

I am very satisfied for what they gave those three insane sick cowardless people. I just dont understand why would three idots want to murder a young human being that didnt even get to see 18 or even living for eternity. NOW JUSTICE HAS BEEN SERVED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
But, besides this I WISH IT WAS ME RATHER THAN MY SON. Even though I was not that close to my son I WOULD HAVE TAKEN HIS PLACE AND THATS THE FACT!!

I feel for the families that lost their loved ones. but once again. u guys are only hearing one side of a bullsh*& story. i bet most people didnt know how long this dispute was going on. did any1 know that the ex boy and girl friend attempted to kill gerardo previously?? nope. no one ever liked gerardos ex girl NO ONE. the way i see it these youngins were in that van knowing exactly what was going on. sumthing that the ex's got them into. everyones blaming juan anda and gerardo for this tragedy, yet if ur homie n homegurl that got the other 2 involved werent so ignorant nothing would of happened to them. true friendS? my freakin ass. bitches acting like they didnt do nothing and " scared for their lives" u could all thank the couple for the loss of ur loved ones. real friends dont bring others with kids especially to ride for sumthing over sum x boyfriend girlfriend drama. the fingers were pointed in the wrong directions. gerardo and juan anda are doing theyre time for sumthing that should have never went down the way it did. but theyre are 2 other people out there that wont admitt to theyre wrong doings that should also be put to shame. they might not be doing any time but just remember we all have to go thru judgement day and those 2 will rott in hell.
