Israel Salinas, identified by the coroner's office as a 16-year-old white teenager, was fatally shot Tuesday, Oct. 18, near 3rd Street and Hill Street in Downtown, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.
Salinas and another 16-year-old were attending a continuation class in the afternoon when they got into a confrontation, the Los Angeles Police Department said. There was a suspected gang rivalry between the two teenagers.
The youths continued arguing outside, when Salinas was shot multiple times with a handgun in the tunnel by 3rd and Hill streets.
An on-duty LAPD officer passing by heard the gunfire and arrested the alleged shooter, who reportedly had a handgun in his waistband, said Lt. Paul Vernon, commander of the Central Division detective unit.
"Two 16-year-old lives were irreparably changed forever," Vernon told The Times.
Salinas was pronounced dead at a hospital. According to coroner's records, he died from gunshot wounds to the head, torso and leg.

He was killed after school not even a block away. Why hasnt this pissed off or gotten any media attention?? His mom was waiting for him on the other side of the block and never imagined the sirens were for her son.

This is the usually the outcome when guys like this kid join a gang and act tough. Its just a normal cycle when you live that life. Not a surprise to me that he got got.

I dont agree with your comment. I do not condone gang activity, however, the kid that pulled the trigger is a pu**y. He couldn't defend himself like a man, and instead he took someone's life. Gangmember or not, it doesn't give someone the right to kill you.

@nope-Your right being a gang member does not give any one the right to kill you but by choosing to be a gang member YOU put yourself in the position to be murdered or incarcerated. You may ask yourself why are people so harsh on HR well if your here long enough and you read through enough of these pages you see the same two words over and over and over again. "GANG RELATED"

I'm glad that Police Officer was in the area when it happened. At least they caught the person that did it, and he is off the streets so he can't do it again!!!!

Look life's to short to be wasting on street bull.I was there wen this happened I worked in the Bldg this kid went to school at it was a daily how's it going wit him..I also met the kid that shot him it was his first day of school ask me n a coworker directions how to get to class ..trip out how sh** endz...anywayz 2livez were wasted over something u don't even own a f#*%en street corner ....it don't pay off bleave me I know...

I don't understand half of the class knew the suspect was gonna do this afterschool and didn't even say a single word. I don't know how could there be people in this world with no heart, they could've saved his life<////3.
