Ivan Chaidez, 19

Died Dec. 2, 2009 at 8:36 a.m.

Ivan Chaidez, a 19-year-old Latino, was shot Tuesday, Dec. 1, at Pinney Street and De Foe Avenue in Pacioma, authorities said.

Chaidez was shot in the early evening and taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead at 8:36 a.m. the next day, according to coroner's records.

Detectives said several juveniles were involved in Chaidez's killing, and that at least one arrest had been made. Because the case involves minors, authorities did not identify the suspects.

Officials with the Los Angeles County district attorney's office could not find a record of charges being filed in the case.

Police said the killing is possibly gang-related. All of the suspects are involved in a gang, and police said Chaidez was a suspected gang member.
