Ivison Washington, 27
Died Jan. 22, 2010 at 2:35 p.m.
Ivison Washington, a 27-year-old black man, was shot and killed Friday, Jan. 22, in the 14600 block of Larch Avenue in Lawndale, authorities said.
Washington was one of three people killed in a triple homicide. Brittany Howard, a 23-year-old black woman, and Brandon Wright, a 27-year-old black man, were shot and killed in the same incident. Wright and Howard are siblings, and Washington and Howard were dating.
Detectives remain perplexed by the killings and are asking for the public's assistance in solving the case.
Authorities received a phone call Friday afternoon about a possible gunshot victim in an apartment in the 14600 block of Larch Avenue in Lawndale, said Los Angeles County sheriff's Det. Karen Shonka.
Shonka said all three lived together in the apartment with Howard's 7-year-old daughter, Harmony. Harmony told detectives that her uncle, Wright, had walked her to school that morning and probably got back to the apartment about 8 a.m.
What happened next is a mystery.
Sometime between 8 a.m. and 2:20 p.m., when authorities received the call, someone shot all three victims. Shonka said there was no sign of forced entry to the apartment, nothing was taken, and nothing looked out of order in the residence.
Washington was a former gang member who got out of prison about seven months ago, Shonka said. But detectives said the shooting does not look like a gang killing, and any of the three victims could have been the intended target.
"I worked gangs for 10 years, and this is not your typical gang shooting," Shonka said. "It looks more like a professional hit."
Though detectives do not have a motive in the killing, Shonka said it could be a dispute about business or money. Shonka said detectives have no leads on the case right now. None of the neighbors heard anything the day of the shooting because of a thunderstorm, Shonka said, so no one has been able to provide detectives with a more specific timeframe for the killing.
Shonka said Harmony is staying with relatives. "She didn't even cry," she said.
Detectives are asking anyone who might have information to call the sheriff's Homicide Bureau at (323) 890-5500. Shonka said any information, even if it seems insignificant, could help detectives solve the case.

I am truly at a loss for words right now...Ivison was a very special person to me. We grew up in the same neighborhood as kids, and most of our adult life. "Roxton ave", I will never forget all the wonderful memories you left me my friend and I'm just so angry that they were cut short, our children never even got a chance to meet let alone play together as we had so many times talked about. Everybody who really knew you , knew what type of heart you really had and can't nobody tell me any different. Speechless..is what I am; I want to send my prayers to his entire family and I hope we all who loved him deeply receive some closure soon. I LOVE YOU IVISON , and you will be missed; But never forgotten :(

First of all my heart goes out to the family. I am so sorry that someone would take a life. Some people don't even have a conscience but god sits high and looks low. And he knows that your heart hurts but he has all power and he will continue to console you. My heart goes out to the other familys also. May God bless and keep you all and i will keep you in my prayers.

Who ever killed these people must know them..since there was no forced entry or they may have answered the door & were ambushed..But the killer or Killers thoroughly thought out this hit since they were killed during a THUNDER STORM its a good cover for apparent gun shot noise.
