Jabari Benton, a 15-year-old black youth, was fatally shot while walking near 11th Street and Ohio Avenue in Long Beach about 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 29, 2008, authorities said.
Long Beach police said an unknown assailant approached Benton on foot and shot him. He was taken to a hospital, where he died. Coroner's officials said Benton had been shot in the abdomen and back.
