James Fuentes, 36

Died Oct. 15, 2010

James Fuentes, identified by the coroner's office as a 36-year-old white man, was shot and killed Friday, Oct. 15, in the 6700 block of Pickering Avenue in Whittier, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Authorities responded to a call of a possible shooting about 9 p.m., according to a Whittier Police Department news release. When officers arrived, they found Fuentes with several gunshot wounds to the chest.

Paramedics were called and Fuentes was taken to County-USC Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead, police said.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the Whittier Police Department at (562) 945-8250.
