Jeff Pouncil Jr., 19

Died Jan. 5, 2012

Jeff Pouncil Jr., a 19-year-old black man, was fatally shot Thursday, Jan. 5, in the 2100 block of Orange Avenue in Long Beach, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Pouncil was shot about noon, police said. He was taken to a hospital with a wound to the torso and was pronounced dead.

The shooter opened fire on Pouncil and a friend as they were walking northbound. Pouncil was struck, the Long Beach Police Department said.

Authorities believe the shooting was possibly gang-related.
