Jermaine Tillman, a 30-year-old black man, died after he was taken off life support Thursday, Nov. 12, five days after he was shot while walking out of a market at 701 East Manchester Ave. in Florence, authorities said.
Los Angeles Police Det. Carlos Velasquez said Tillman was shot about 7 p.m. Nov. 7. The suspect, whom witnesses described as a black man driving a light-colored four-door sedan, has not been identified and is at large, Velasquez said.
Tillman was shot in the neck and taken to the hospital, where he remained on life support until his death. Though Tillman was not a documented gang member, Velasquez said his death is being investigated as a gang killing because of the manner and location of the shooting.

Jermnaine was a father of three beautiful children, whom now grieve for their father and tring to understand the fact that they can't never see, touch or, here him. As their mother this is the hardest thing I ever imagine haviing to do as parent. But, God has gave me the strength to handle anything he places in front of me and being with Jermaine he has taught me to remain strong under any circumstance for his children and that is what am doing. Jermaine you are truly missed! Love you always.

Damn Kant believe I love my oldest brother its hard to acccept the fact that he wont be here with us anymore. Jermaine there will never be another like you in this world and you kan never be replaced I miss u so much and it hurts knowing that I kant see you and talk to you its so much anger and pain build up inside but i have to be strong for the family. You taught me so much stuff and now that you not here I feel lost because im so use to having you around. I love you miss you with all I have thank you for being the best big brother anyone kan ask for....
