Died Aug. 4, 2010 at 3:23 a.m.

Jerriell Wilborn, a 49-year-old black man, was shot and killed Wednesday, Aug. 4, near Slauson Avenue and Main Street in South Park, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Jerriel and his wife, Sulema Wilborn, a 51-year-old Latina, were driving on Slauson Avenue, about a quarter of a mile from the 110 Freeway, when they were both shot, said Det. Thomas Brown of the Los Angeles Police Department's Newton division.

Sulema Wilborn, who was in the driver's seat, accelerated and his vehicle crashed into a pole on the freeway offramp, Brown said.

Authorities were called and the two pronounced dead at the scene at 3:43 a.m., according to coroner's records.

Brown said there were no witnesses to the shooting. The incident may be gang-related.

Rest in peace Big Homie, on Hood I will truly miss you. Last time I saw you, you hopped out the jag in an all white khaki suit, with the white stacy adams on, and the white panama hat. You should have been on the cover of EM, on the set! I know we all have our day, but it still hurts to know I wont be able to watch you clown around or propagate your intelligence. But God wanted a General like yourself up there with him. For those that didn't know, the Big Homie submitted his life to God. Take care of yourself Big Homie; tell the trues I send my regards and I will see you when I get there. Much love and respect.

My moms' & 'PaPa' are everything to me. We always love each other uncondtionally as god asked of us. I was their only child and I have no parents to turn too. My children's bond with them is something that could words can not explain. I know that god will not endure on me nothing I can't handle which he is why I keep moving forward for my family. I truly hope; as I stated in other blogs; that the killer(s) read this or the people that know them reads this....
You have not won you NEVER will!!! When your judgement day comes you will have NO OPTIONS just like you gave my parents!!! I know that god will see to that...

Jerreill

The boy's name Jerreill \j[er]-reill\ is a variant of Jeriel [Hebrew], and the meaning of Jeriel is
"GOD HAS SEEN".

— lil G [little gangster?] "Big homie name black ran the yard ...wc out on a furlow.. we will miss u homie much respect u a tru hoodstar legend"

— LIL TBAM "But God wanted a General like yourself up there with him."

Now things make sense. This was a gang execution. Someone in prison wanted him dead. Just what did he do to get himself executed?

One thing we can be sure of. He was no general nor foot soldier. And "propagate your intelligence"? Just what does that mean?

He was a gangster and sociopath. Maybe he changed his life in prison, maybe not.

Nothing to be proud of.

We all choose to be a part of the problem or the solution. If we choose to be part of the solution, then we must be cautious with our statements, or we risk becoming part of the problem. It is always wise to leave the judgment to God.

propagate, to cause to increase or multiply; to transmit; to spread.

intelligence, the ability to learn or understand; acquire and retain knowledge.

— Judy Gray, how about we start to solve the problem with the truth.

How about being truthfull about the deceased. He was a gangster. Perhaps his "homies" should stop with the gang speak and not tell the world just what the deceased was truely about.

And god commands us to judge. You are a gang enabler if you do not have the courage to speak out about criminal behavior. And your refusal to judge enables sociopathic behavior to take root in a community.

The truth is the comments on this page are written by those who are grieving over their loss. You have chosen to judge the language in which they choose to do so.

Homie (or homey), is a contraction of the American slang words "" or "homebuddies" which became prevalent among some of the youth in Latino and African American communities starting in the late 1960s and continuing up to the present, particularly in the hip hop subculture. ...

Your words: “Maybe he changed his life in prison, maybe not”.
My words: “It is always wise to leave the judgment to God”.
My God does not command me to judge without all the facts.
Congratulations, I also enjoyed the psychology classes.

What up Big Homie? I was thinking about you and the rest of the fallen. I just wanted to let yall know you're missed dearly. Also, later for all you miserable individuals who have espoused a hobby in going on a deceased person's site to try to make the living feel miserable for loving and mourning their lost loved ones; what a despicable act! How are you any better than us? Can't no one stop anyone from doing what they want to do. So why punish are families, friends, and associates for the evil that we perpetrate. I take full responsibility in my soldiering for my set. Before I lift my fingers from this keyboard, I just want to say, Rest N Peace to OG BlaccDog to Young Hoodsta Woody. Western and Imperial Neighbors!!!!!

— LIL TBAM, its laughable you question the intentions of people like me where we speak of the truth and not sugar coat someones choices they made in life.

You say we are despicable for telling the truth, which in your mind is worse than the violence and terror you represent? That's like some nazi's I've heard, claiming they were the true victims of WW2!

Here you are, an admitted gangster (with blood on your hands, no doubt). You are a reason why this individual is dead. And you have the gumption to say "RIP" to this individual?

" .... So why punish are families, friends, and associates for the evil that we perpetrate. ... ". Because all of the people you mentioned allowed this to happen. And you're all gang-enablers as far as I am concerned.

And try to stop saying you're a "soldier". You're a criminal as far as society see it. And its just to bad you cannot be taken as a POW and charged with war crimes and held until the war is over.
