Jesus Rendon, a 36-year-old Latino, was shot and killed Wednesday, Nov. 30, in the 2100 block of City View Avenue in Boyle Heights, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.
Rendon and Art Gomez, a 31-year-old Latino, were standing outside a house shortly after midnight when five unknown men walked up and began fighting with Gomez, according to an LAPD news release.
At that point, Gomez and Rendon were shot, officials said. Authorities were called, and Gomez was pronounced dead at the scene. Rendon was taken to County USC Medical Center where he later died. Coroner's records show both men were shot several times.
Investigators believe the shooting was gang-related.
