Jewell King

Jewell King, a 54-year-old black woman, was shot and killed Saturday, Feb. 19, in the 11600 block of South Main Street in Broadway-Manchester, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Authorities received a 911 call of "gunshots heard" about 9:45 p.m., said LAPD Criminal Gang and Homicide Det. Kerri Potter, who is handling the investigation.

King was found outside with gunshot wounds to the chest and arm, according to coroner's records.

Paramedics were called and the victim was taken to Harbor UCLA Medical Center, where she later died.

Potter said no arrests have been made in connection with the case and a motive for the shooting remains unknown.

At this time, investigators do not have a description of the shooter.

This was my Mother and any infomation somebody has please come forward she was a Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt and Friend and did'nt deserve what happen to her. I will be bringing her back home with me but wish I could've held her hand and tell her I Loved her. Please come forward with some information.

This was my Aunt and I pray that anyone who has any information will come forward. I know that's nto something people do often in "our part" of California, but I really hope someone can bring forth some information so that justice can prevail. I Love You Auntie Jewel and My God Rest Your Soul!
