Pervis Patterson

Pervis Patterson, a 33-year-old black man, was found dead March 2 on the eastbound 210 Freeway near Foothill Boulevard in Lake View Terrace, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

[Note: An earlier version of this post, based on information from the coroner's office, identified Patterson as John Doe  No. 33. His age was not provided.]

Patterson's body was found bound in a plastic bag along the freeway by a Caltrans worker about 1:30 p.m., said LAPD Det. M. Santana, who is handling the investigation.

According to coroner's records, Patterson died from strangulation.

Investigators are still trying to determine the circumstances leading up to his death, Santana said. No arrests have been made in connection with the case.
