Jose Arroyo-Martinez, 20

Died Aug. 29, 2010 at 2:47 a.m.

Jose Arroyo-Martinez, a 20-year-old Latino, was shot and killed Sunday, Aug. 29, in the 8400 block of Lankershim Boulevard in Sun Valley, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Arroyo-Martinez was outside Michael’s Banquet Hall for a wedding reception about 2:30 a.m. when he and another guest began arguing, according to Los Angeles Police Sgt. Rudy Alaniz and a Los Angeles County coroner's investigator.

During the fight, Arroyo-Martinez was shot in the abdomen, Alaniz said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The suspect fled in a vehicle but crashed on the 5 Freeway near the Penrose Street exit, where he was detained by California Highway Patrol officers and handed over to Los Angeles police.

Authorities have identified Miguel Ochoa, a 28-year-old Latino, and his brother Axel Chavez, a 19-year-old Latino, as the two suspects involved in the dispute. Both men are currently in custody at the Men's Central Jail in downtown.

Police said Ochoa is a civilian security officer employed by the County of Los Angeles.

A weapon has been recovered, investigators said, but the motive for the killing remains unknown.

The incident was not gang-related.

Anyone with additional information about the death of Jose Arroyo-Martinez is asked to call LAPD Foothill Detectives Corey Farell or Joshua Byers at (818) 834-3115. Those wishing to remain anonymous should call Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-TIPS (800-222-8477).

— Mr., are you referring to the map provided by the HR report?

As for the two accused murderers, they will have a long time in jail to reflect on how stupid they were to gun someone down for a trivial reason!
