Jose Carlos Perez-Hernandez, a 36-year-old Latino, was shot and killed by police Thursday, Feb. 8, at 9201 State St. in South Gate, according to coroner's records.
According to an account provided by the Los Angeles County coroner's office, Perez-Hernandez was shot by police after he allegedly pulled a gun out of his waistband when officers arrived at the scene of possible robbery at B & K Liquor store.
