Jose Hernandez, a 26-year-old Latino, was shot several times in the chest on Friday, May 1 in the 500 block of North Olive Avenue in Long Beach, according to the Los Angeles County coroner's office.
Hernandez was attending a party when an unknown person opened fire about 10:38 p.m., killing Hernandez and wounding another man, according to Long Beach police.
Hernandez was found lying in the street with several gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said. Anyone with information is asked to call Long Beach Police Department Dets. Russ Moss or Teri Hubert at (562) 570-7244.
