Jose Suarez, a 40-year-old Latino, was shot and killed Thursday, June 17, in the 2000 block of East 76th Place in Florence-Firestone, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.
Suarez was on a front porch about 9:53 p.m. when he was hit in a drive-by shooting, said Ed Winter, spokesman for the coroner's office. He sustained a gunshot wound to the neck, according to coroner's records.
Authorities were called, and Suarez was pronounced dead at the scene, Winter said.
