Juan Carlos Garduno, a 15-year-old Latino, was shot several times and died Aug.7. Garduno was shot in the 11200 block of South Berendo Avenue in unincorporated Los Angeles County, according to Los Angeles County coroner's officials.Ed Winter, a spokesman for the coroner's office, said Garduno was shot in front of a home. The residents heard gunshots and when they looked outside they saw Garduno wounded in their frontyard, Winter said.
The incident happened about 10:14 p.m. Garduno was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 10:50 p.m., Winter said.
