Juan Flores, a 42-year-old Latino, was fatally shot Monday, Oct. 17, in the 900 block of Lakme Street in Wilmington, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.
Flores was walking on the street about 8:45 p.m. when he was approached by two Latinos, according to an LAPD news release.
The assailants began shooting at Flores with a pistol and a shotgun, officials said, and the victim collapsed to the ground.
Authorities were called and Flores was taken to a Long Beach hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The shooters were last seen running a short distance to a white-colored sedan and then driving eastbound on Opp Street, officials said.
Investigators do not have a motive for the shooting.
