Juan Garcia, 30

Died Dec. 26, 2011

Juan Garcia, a 30-year-old Latino, was shot and killed Monday, Dec. 26, in the 100 block of West 85th Street in Florence, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Garcia was standing in the street about 8:45 a.m. when a man riding a bicycle approached and confronted him, said Los Angeles police Sgt. Mitzi Fierro.

The man on the bicycle then fired two shots, hitting Garcia, Fierro said. The victim was taken to a local hospital, where he died.

Fierro said police had detained three potential suspects for questioning. No other information was immediately available.
