Juan Valencia, a 20-year-old Latino, was fatally shot Tuesday, Nov. 16, in the 5000 block of Gage Avenue in Bell, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.
Valencia was walking about 2:40 p.m. when several men in a vehicle began arguing with him, said Deputy Guillermina Saldana of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
One of the men got out of the car, approached Valencia and shot him twice in the torso.
Valencia was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Officials said the shooting is believed to be gang-related.
