Karine Hakobyan, 38
Died March 26, 2010 at 8:20 p.m.
Karine Hakobyan, a 38-year-old white woman, was fatally shot Friday, March 26, in the 5800 block of Lexington Avenue in Hollywood, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.
On Friday night, Hakoybyan's 14-year-old daughter came home to an empty apartment. She got worried when her mother didn’t come home from work, so the girl walked down to the carport looking for her.
There, she found her mother's body slumped in her Honda CRV with a gunshot wound to the back of the head.
Eighteen months earlier, the same daughter arrived home from school and discovered her father and 8-year-old sister shot to death inside the family’s Hollywood apartment.
On Monday, a team of Los Angeles police detectives were trying to piece together the three killings, which occurred a few blocks from each other in Hollywood’s Little Armenia district.
Detectives believe the killings are connected but declined to provide more details.

Nine reader comments about Karine Hakobyan
Karine Hakobyan was truly a loving and amazing human being. She didn't deserve to die like this. Nor did she deserve to have her husband and youngest daughter taken away from her. In these past 18 months her daughter has been threw so much and she needed her mother during this hard time in her life. Me and my friends pray to God that whoever took the life of Karine will be found and be treated with justice. RIP Karine Hakobyan. -TMPL

Dang, I fell bad for the daughter, not once but twice finding a parent murdered. That's really quite awful.

Damn I feel really bad for the daughter! now she is left alone and must be frightened for her life!! I hope the authorities can protect her. This is just horrifying!! See, this is what happened's when you let the devil take you into the life of adultery. You or your family pay the price! The father should have been the only one too in this case. I hope they find the person who ordered this! and may the CA inmates handle him. I pray God protects her and heals her through her life, and finds justice for her fathers selfish acts. I have been following this case cause it was way too close to home.

Alberd Tersargyan was arrested for her murder. Karine may have been the target of a stalker. Here's a link with more info:

He was allegedly a friend of the family and obsessed with Karine. They knew each other in Armenia and when her family moved over to Hollywood, he moved as well. He may be connected to the earlier murders of Karine's husband and daughter but police have not been able to prove that yet.
One thing leaves me puzzled by all of this. If it's true that Alberd was making advances on Karine, was his name mentioned to police when her husband ended up dead? Wouldn't he seem a person of interest in his brutal slaying? It's possible that Karine's husband's slaying might have been done by a professional killer but Alberd would have had all of the incentive in the world to want him dead. It seems like info was withheld in this case. Karine may have made the fatal mistake of thinking she could handle Alberd's advances on her own. But since we don't have all of the facts it's impossible to know what was really going on.
