Kevin Williams, a 19-year-old black man, was shot and killed Monday, Dec. 13, in the 3500 block of West Imperial Highway in Inglewood, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.
Authorities received a radio call about a "shooting victim" about 6 p.m., according to an Inglewood Police Department news release. When police arrived, they found Williams lying on the walkway at a business center.
He had been shot in the head, police said. Paramedics were called and Williams was pronounced dead at the scene.
During the investigation, detectives learned Williams was sitting with a group of friends in front of the 99 Cents Only store when a blue sedan entered the parking lot. At that point, a black male got out of the passenger side of the car and began firing at the group of men, striking Williams. Witnesses said the assailant got back into the car and fled.

Although I never met you, I am so grateful for the chance to get to talk to you just days before your passing. I saw your picture on your dad's FB page, his spitting image! I was looking forward to meeting you and your sister in February, and finally getting together with the little cousins.
