It was with a great sense of loss and truly saddened heart that I heard of Landon’s death. His family and students have my greatest sympathy. Landon Neal was more than just a wonderful person; he was always kind and considerate to everyone. He often expressed that there were no “bad kids”, he was always a positive role model and he continuously extended his assistance to the Teen Intervention Program. His passing will leave a void in our community and a empty space in the hearts of all those who knew him.
May God grant us all the strength to handle this tremendous loss.

I don't know how to start this but when I woke up Sunday morning the last thing I wanted to hear was that I lost another close friend of mine and what makes this especially hard is the fact that not only was this brother "REAL" but he had a good heart too.

Rest in Peace my Brother you truly will be missed....

Dearest Landon...

Recently found out you are my family through your father (who is my 2nd cousin). I know you were a great person…you dedicated your life to giving back to the future (the youth). I, too, have the same passion being a teacher for over ten years.

I would like to extend my sincerest sympathies and heartfelt love to the family. It’s sad to have lost such a great person. But it was a miracle to have had you in the first place!

Love you cuz….Daphne Dixon

Where to begin to explain the sense of sadness I feel. Neal your passing has turned my life upside down. I miss you very much. I know the distance between us was not easy but yet you always had loving things to say and a big smile for me. I am a better woman for having known you and I thank God for having blessed me with your love. I will cherish and hold close to my heart the beautiful memories we shared. You leave behind 2 stars and I hope they find it in themselves to shine and make you proud. Keep smiling for me, always. Rest in Peace Sweetheart.

Neal was more than “just another one,” judging by the comments and my working with him. He and his immediate and extended family deserve that justice be served by capturing his killer. This is a test for all of those whose job is to reduce crime and take killers off the street. Are you listening LASD? Someone had to have seen or heard something.

If we are going to truly remove the element of soulless murderers from our communities it starts with getting the message out for people to "Speak-Up." We need to make it unsafe for the murderers and dedicated criminals rather than the other way around. There are more of us than them.

Landon (Cosmo) Neal was a friend of mine. His wife and I were very close when they first married. Landon's silly smile and sense of humor will forever be missed. May he be at rest in his Father's Arms and may his family be comforted.

Be at Rest Cosmo,
