Lanelle was a very smart young woman..she had so much ahead of her. She was the most caring and loving person who loved nursing and took excellent care of her patients. This is such a tragic thing that has happened to her. My condolences to her family.

I still miss my cousin, I was just thinkin' about her when a issue came up last week "lol". I'll be so grateful when the detectives workin on her case find the weapon & person and can rebuild the case all over again. I pray that the person who committed this hatefull crime will begin to talk & tell what really happen. So me & my fam' can bring this to a close. If any one know/heard of anything PLEASEEEE go to the authorities and help us. May God bless.LOVE YOU NELLIE NELL.

I didn't know this young lady, but I live a couple of miles from the home she was murdered. I cannot believe someone could do such a thing and no one heard any gunshots. I drove by the house and its a nice residential area with new homes and young families. I think it was a burgulary in which someone made a wrong decision to take her life. That means the murderer lives right in my community. I pray that GOD reveals the truth and person in this case.

@ Belinda, Thank you so very much for taking the time out and sending a prayer to Our Heavenly Father. Yes this is a very tragic occasion that really did'nt need to happen. And yes indeed the neighborhood is extremely nice, and to think that something like that could happen. But you know God gets the glory in everything good or bad. But once again Thank you.

Fred...yes, I would like to know more about this. At the least can HR put some contact info for the detectives. Never know who might wander in here and have information. These cases are particularly troubling. RIP Lanell

WOW! I saw this episode on America's Most Wanted when it first aired in December 23 2011. My family and I all watched, and just couldn't understand this Larene Eleanor Austin animal! I'm thinking something might be wrong with her, but nothing was ever mentioned of her mental problem. I'm sorry this happened to Miss. LaNell Barsock. This is straight insane. I pray that the wild animal on the loose gets trapped and put inside her cage. Thats where wild animals belongs in.

I just saw this case on AMW like not even an hour ago and Im at work, a hospital in Indianapolis indiana. I can NOT get this girl off of my brain for some odd reason. I will be 29 in Feb maybe thats why. She was so young, didnt even get to share her life and success with children or a husband. This will forever haunt me all the way in Indiana. That lady's face is stamped in my head I KNOW THAT NOW THAT THIS HAS AIRED GOD IS GETTING READY TO DO WORK. To the family STAY strong and prayed up. stay on this case, dont let the detectives shove this to cold case. She is just a human being like us, she can be found.. Much love and blessings!

I had the pleasure of meeting Lanell Barsock in 1999, while working at the United States Postal Service. I recently learned of the incident less than 48 hours ago. Lanell was a wonderful cook. My favorite dish she made was cabbage. Often times we would go to Bertha's soul food, she would order oxtails, or neck bones. I maintain a vegetarian diet, so i would order all the sides and tell her her homemade cabbage was the best in the world, and she should cook for bertha's. My second favorite dish she made was Jamacian rice and peas.
Lanell had great taste in cloths, food, purses and people.

Lanell was a wonderful person. Hard working and very caring. Lanell accomplished more in 10 years than more people have accomplished in a lifetime. This situation is very tragic and I hope the killer is found and the true story unfolds. R.I.P Lanel
