Lejon Robins, 40
Died April 5, 2010 at 8:29 p.m.
Lejon Robins, a 40-year-old black man, was shot and killed Monday, April 5, in the 300 block of North Long Beach Boulevard in Compton, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.
Robins and Vance Dean, a co-worker, were discovered by deputies responding to a burglary-in-progress call just before 8 p.m. at Custom City Auto, authorities said. The two were shot dead after a group of men tried to rob the store.
Another employee, an adult male, was wounded but is expected to live, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputy Benjamin Grubb said.
When deputies arrived, they saw a green van matching a description of the suspects’ vehicle driving away. Deputies pulled the van over a few blocks away at Ward Avenue and Compton Boulevard and, after a brief chase, arrested six men.
One, however, became unresponsive in the back of a patrol car and was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead of an apparent heart attack. The coroner’s office would not give his name, pending notification of next of kin.

Its too bad this happened to him and his coworker. Theyre just trying to make a living when a gang of punks just guns them down for nothing.
And its to bad the 9th circuit court will probably make sure that the accused will have more rights after their conviction then the men they murdered.

This is a very sad situation. Out of all the guys I know I never would have thought he would have died this way he was such a cool guy. He was nice and always smiling. He was about business and never carried himself in a rudely manner. If any one can let me know about the services I would really appreciate it. I haven't seen B.T. in about 6 years maybe and I hated to hear the bad news. R.I.P B T May the lord be with him and his family!

"BT" I didn't know you for very long but for the short time I did, you seem to be very cool. I was only someone who did your hair, the hair you were so proud of,:) But when I got the news!! Wow! a total devastation, one because I had just did your hair and left to go home, and the other because know one should have to loose their life at the hands of no man! Now my Monday's will always be with me and I now have to find other ways on that day to remember you. May your family be watched over forever and be protected and covered by the blood of Jesus!! And God Bless your soul. R.I.P. B.T. {BIG TYME} LEJON ROBINS FOREVER IN MY FAMILIES HEART with the deepest love.

I knew you for a short time, but it seemed like 4ever. I truly believe you were my angel sent to help me get over what I was going through, and you did. I will miss that big smile and the way you made me feel like nothing else in the world mattered. You always spoke about your about your children and how much you loved them. My thoughts and prayers go out to them right now, and may they always remember how much you loved them.

@Elber Gudo The Times contacted Detective Ken Perry, who is handling the investigation, and he said there is no evidence that Custom City Auto was a place drugs were held or sold.

Lejon David Robins loved his children and they love and miss him. He was very generous with them. He wanted to give to his sons what he never had. When his two sons were going to a horse show, he made sure they went in style: cowboy hats, shirts, jeans, belts and leather boots. They were only 5 and 3! Lejon attended all their baseball and football games, graduations and birthday parties. He cheered and high-fived the other dads when his son made a touch-down. He was very proud of their athletic ability. They miss him very much. The youngest one said he wished his daddy was going to see his brother run in the races Sunday, just to see him cheer. Nice memory for an 8 year old boy.You didn't live in vain. Your name will live on through your children. God bless your soul Lejon and your children.
