Loren Arterberry, a 36-year-old black man, was shot and killed Monday, Dec 21, at Western and Vernon avenues in Vermont Square, according to Los Angeles County coroner's officials.
Arterberry, of Alhambra, was riding a bicycle when someone walked up and shot him, said Ed Winter, a spokesman for the coroner's office. Winter said the assailant then fled on foot.
Arterberry was shot about 7:40 p.m. and taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead at 8:10 p.m., Winter said.

LOREN "NALIK" WAS ON HIS WAY TO BECOMING ONE OF THE WORLDS GREATEST HIP HOP ARTIST. HE JUST RELEASED HIS FIRST CD, AND WAS ON THE STREETS MARKETING AND NETWORKING THE DAY HE WAS KILLED. Loren Arterberry was killed in a senseless act of violence. He wasn't in a gang nor did he come from a gang background. My brother was a innocent man and deserves justice. Please help us in finding the individual who committed this horrific crime.

Yesterday was my brother's 37 birthday and he was cheated so many more of those to come. I can't help but to be angry and hurt that he was robbed of so much. The person who did this will be brought to justice. It is written,you reap what you sow. That's a promise.

He use to come into my old job pretty much everyday, he also rapped for my friends record label. He was a funny guy and always very nice. It's sad to think that he left a child behind too; He told me a few months before he passed that his lady was pregnant and that he was going to be a father...I was soo happy for him! It's tragic that he was taken from the earth so young. RIP Lord Divine.

Gang bangers are clowns and cowards who wouldn't be able to fight another man one on one. They go after weaker people, and always multiple gangbangers on just 1 person. This man wasn't affiliated with a gang and that's probably what get him killed.
