Luis De Paz, 20

Died July 20, 2010

Luis De Paz, a 20-year-old Latino, died Tuesday, July 20, a day after he was shot near 71st Street and Victoria Avenue in Hyde Park, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

On July 19, police responded to the area after there was a call of a shooting about 9:55 a.m., according to an LAPD news release.

Authorities found De Paz in a car with several gunshot wounds, police said. He was taken to a local hospital where he died the next day, according to coroner's records.

In the preliminary coroner's report, it also listed blunt head trauma as one of his injuries.

Investigators say De Paz was driving a 2005 Dodge Stratus at the intersection when three Latinos driving a light-colored sedan shot him. The assailants then drove away northbound on Victoria Avenue.

Detectives believe the shooting was gang-related. No arrests have been made in connection with the case.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact LAPD Criminal Gang Homicide Dets. John Ferreria or Robert Guzman at (213) 485-1383. Tipsters who wish to remain anonymous can call Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-TIPS (800) 222-8477 or at www.lacrimestoppers.com.

— just sayin ..... what is truely bizarre, is in the sociopathic culture of gangsters and their enablers, these criminals are referred to as "soldiers".

You just cant make stuff up like this! Their world is so distorted and abnormal, that common criminals are known as street soldiers!

just sayin, I couldn't agree more with your post. However, if I'm not mistaken, any individual who wants to join the army, navy or airforce needs to have a clean record. I may be wrong, but I do believe the sooner we can get these young kids off the street by means of giving them a second chance the better.

Wonder if this has anything to do with that 15 yr old kid Javier Sanchez that got killed in Inglewood.

@Jag true you must have a clean record and must also have some morales. My point really is that if they went to war where they had others shooting back at them it would really bvring out the coward in them. From what I heard the young man had just dropped his girlfriend off and the coward ran up to his car and began firing.I admired the way gunfights were handled in the western days at least they stood face to face to draw their weapons.

The are all south of the border now, waiting for the call from the big homie puppet to give them the all clear,

when they are on the streets they shoot other mexicans who are Surenas, but when they go to Prison then they hang around the same gangs they hated and shot at on the streets,

Who understands these dumb Surenas
