Luis Morales, a 21-year-old Latino man, was shot multiple times while attending a party in the 12900 block of Glenoaks Boulevard in Sylmar on Sunday, Nov. 30, 2008, according to authorities.
Morales was shot about noon in the backyard of a home where he was attending a birthday party, Los Angeles police said. Police were called to the scene after a report of gunfire.
He was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
"Detectives believe that there were nearly one hundred people who were at the party when the gunfire broke out. All of the witnesses had left the location before police arrived," according to an LAPD news release.
