Dornice Anthony Washington, a 24-year-old black man, was fatally shot during a robbery attempt Sunday, Nov. 20, in the 1400 block of South La Cienega Boulevard in Pico-Robertson, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.
The robbery attempt occurred about 8:45 p.m. at Smoke N' Gifts.
Washington, who was with another man, pointed a handgun at the owner, who then produced a weapon and shot him several times, said Lt. Andy Neiman of the Los Angeles Police Department.
Washington, of Los Angeles, was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 9:51 p.m.
During the shooting, a customer was struck by gunfire and taken to a hospital in critical condition.
The other man was described as a black male of medium build, 20 to 26, about 6 feet and 160 to 180 pounds and wearing a dark hoodie, dark pants and white shoes.

Was this young man ever identified? Were there any arrest made and where are the parents or do they know. And it's sad cause some parents don't even care.

I was working down the street when this happened... Cops blocked off the entire street.
I poked around after to see what I could find out. This happened at the smoke shop next to Versailles cuban restaurant, most likely over a business deal gone bad is what someone involved was saying. Could be anything though, and regardless of the surrounding circumstances, it is still a shame and a waste of a life.
