Mantwell James, a 25-year-old black man, was stabbed to death Tuesday, Feb. 28, in the 44200 block of Cedar Avenue in Lancaster, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.
L.A. County sheriff's homicide Det. House, who is handling the case, said James was stabbed during a fight.
After the incident, authorities were called, and the victim was taken to Antelope Valley Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
No one has been arrested in connection with the killing, House said. The incident was not gang-related.
Because the investigation is ongoing, House declined to provided additional details about the case.

One of the greatest guys you would ever want to meet. He was one of those type of guys where you can call him for anything and if he had it to give he would give it. A true friend through thick and thin. Someone I was glad to call a brother.

i was fortunate to meet mantwell anthony james as a kid. i helped raise him from age 8-13yrs of age. he was a wonderful kid. just glad i was a part of his life. Bonnie i know the lost gets better cause i lost my Mom 12/3/2011. i will keep u and Dondewja in my prayers.
