Marco Gonzalez, 20

Died Aug. 5, 2011 at 2:00 p.m.

Marco Gonzalez, a 20-year-old Latino, was shot and killed Friday, Aug. 5, in the 15300 block of Nordhoff Street in North Hills, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Gonzalez was driving a white car on Nordhoff Street between Columbus Avenue and Sepulveda Boulevard about 12:40 p.m. when he got into a dispute with the driver of a car beside him, Los Angeles Police Sgt. Karen Spencer and a coroner’s investigator said.

After words were exchanged, the suspect fired multiple shots at Gonzalez, who was struck in the head, Spencer said. The North Hills resident was pronounced dead at the scene.

Spencer would not describe the suspect’s vehicle because she said it would compromise the investigation, which is ongoing.

Investigators believe the incident was gang-related.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-8477.

Interesting he has a gang moniker of "menace". Doesn't leave much to the imagination for what type of person he was.
