Marquise Alexander

Marquise Alexander, 22, was shot in the head at a Shell gas station near the intersection of Crenshaw Avenue and Slauson Avenue in the Crenshaw area of Los Angeles.

Officers responded to a "shots-fired" call and found him dead of a head wound. His time of death was listed as 1:10  Sunday, April 15. He did not belong to the local gang, though he knew members well and may have been related to a few, investigators said. His attackers may have targeted him simply because of where he was, or who he knew, they said.

The large, emotional crowd who gathered at the crime scene after his death included some of those gang acquaintances, upset at his death, police said. Officers described the scene as tense.

Slauson Ave. and Crenshaw Blvd.

One reader comment about Marquise Alexander

Seems like a nice guy...unfortunately guilty by association. Not to mention being out and about in gang territory at 1AM. One can only hope this man received justice, and I mean the legal way. RIP.
