Died Feb. 12, 2010 at 8:10 p.m.
Martell Reed, an 18-year-old black man, was shot and killed Friday, Feb. 12, on the corner of 113th Street and San Pedro Street in Broadway-Manchester, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.
At about 8:10 p.m., Reed was walking in front of a home when he was approached by an assailant and shot several times, said Det. Sal LaBarbera. Reed was declared dead at the scene.
LaBarbera said there were no witnesses to the incident and authorities did not immediately have any suspects.
Anyone with information about the case is asked to call Detective Sal LaBarbera of the LAPD South Bureau at 213-485-4341.

noone deserves what happened to martell . he was a special kid that some kids at skool didnt quite understand .. he always did the weirdst things but we all hadd alove for him ! martel wasnt a bad kid he made good grades and i often asked him for help! i hope that who ever did that to him gets what they deserve && my prayers go out to martells familyy i kno it must hurt .. its crazy cuz it shows us that yu need to treasure the life that yu have && dnt take advantage of wht yu got cuz at any second it can b gone !

I know everyone loved him and miss him very badly. I just need to know why this happen and why did those bastard did that to my son.
My son was a really good kid and he loved to do is speak Spanish all day and caught spider. He would not have harm anyone.
Yes, he will be truly miss forever.

Dear Yolandra,
You have my heart felt condolences for the loss of your son. I'm a mother of one and couldn't imagine life without him. I can't say I know how you feel as my son is sitting here next to me; however I do know that I serve a god that's capable of all things. Put your trust in him and know that he see's all things, the person or people responsible for your baby's murder will HAVE TO answer to him. For what it's worth Im going to keep you lifted up in prayer. Hold tight to your sons memories and stay prayerful.
