Michael Baker

Michael Baker, a 54-year-old black man, died Thursday, June 17, seven years after he was shot in the 3100 block of West Imperial Highway in Inglewood, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Ed Winter, spokesman for the coroner's office, said Baker was shot in the torso on the morning of May 31, 2003. After the shooting, Baker lived as a quadriplegic until he succumbed to his injuries at a residence on June 17.

The coroner's office had no additional information about the shooting that led up to Baker's death.
