Michael Byoune, 19, a young black man, was killed by Inglewood police officers in the 3000 block of Manchester Boulevard about 1:40 a.m. Sunday, May 11. Byoune was declared dead at the scene, authorities said.

According to police, officers were in their patrol car when they heard gunfire. They saw a man running from a parking lot and getting into a slow-moving car. The officers fired several shots as the vehicle came toward them, police said. Byoune was sitting in the passenger side of the car.

The driver of the car was also wounded and taken to a local hospital, where he is recovering.  A third person, who was sitting in the back seat of the car, was detained for questioning.

Update: Inglewood police officials said they were looking for a gunman who they believe prompted two police officers to fatally shoot an unarmed passenger in an approaching car.

It is unfortunate that many young kids have to be targeted by local law enforcement due to their skin color. This young man hasn't been the only victim to police BRUTALITY...he sure as hell won't be the last! My heart goes out to his family.

— Nelson, so I guess in the Latino and Black areas of LA County, the police should only be targeting old Asian woman?

Just out of curiosity, do you know the racial and age statistics of who gets killed the most?

@ Syscom3 this is the exact thing that I am talking about....THe officers say they were prompted into shooting this man and killing him when he was not even the perpetrator of the initial gunshots...Unjustified and you still sit here and throw stats out about what color gets killed the most....I am done wasting my time with an out of touch moron such as yourself...you have called minorities sociopaths in the past but when you think about sociopaths they have an obsession with SOMETHING and you FOol are obsessed with degrading people of color...if murders were on the decline you would probably go out and kill someone just so you could comment on the HR...sickening....GET IN TOUCH WITH YOURSELF and then maybe you will start to show feelings towards those who are being murder, regardless of race or socioeconomic background....

Do you know the statistics on who has the highest cases of mental disorders?...Just wondering bcuz those that do usually kill in bunches such as in the Seal Beach murders...What ethnicity were they?....see we could throw jabs all day but what is that going to solve...what are you doing personally for HUMAN BEINGS...not in just your community but in the WORLD...FOol...stay in the deep hills of Montana and continue to be obsessed with what goes on in the minority communities.....BTW check the trout in the state of Washington...it will give you an idea of who has the highest rate of mental disorder in this country...TTYL SYSCOM3
