Seven reader comments about Michael Rodriguez
Michael was my cousin, well for me he was like a brother. We grew up together in SANTA ANA, michael, his sister, my sister, me and my other cousin that past away too. We like each other like brothers and sisters. My sister and I we would always laugh with him like most every weekend, and we would also talk on the phone a lot too, he was actually a talented person. I know that before he was having problems, he was locked up but then when he came out he changed a lot he would respect everyone in the family, he would give people for advices. I barely found out, when Michael was In Junior High School in "BROOKHURST" he was popular like every girl in school wanted to go out with him. When my sister would tell him "do you remember when you popular in brookhurst every girl would be like look there he goes" He would just laugh. There's thing I still dont get, this is the things I heard how this homicide crime happen. Michael was at his house taking care of his little brother and sister , but like then someone called him to go out side, I think it was one of his friends. So he got out and he went for a walk and he was with his friend. But like out of no where some guys in a car where inside and michael friend took off , I think he went to his house and lock everything up and he left my cousin outside and there was when he got shot. So the guys that shot him were gone and Michael was lying in the ground. The thing that makes me so mad is that he had friends living around there where he got shot, and no one took him to the hospital. He was still alive. So then someone called the ambulance, and the ambulance took so long, like then half and hour. The other thing that I heard and it makes me so man is that some police officer started kicking him and he was still breathing. When finally the ambulance came and they got him side he stopped breathing. He died. Seeing him on the day of the funeral I just couldn't believe that he was dead. Specially when he was buried. Seeing his friends in the funeral, I was like "what are they doing here" but I didn't say anything. I just cant believe that no one wants to say anything like the people that were living there where he got shot, and specially his friends. There's more good memories but I just dont want to keep on typing because it going to make me cry.........

Yesenia Rodriguez, it doesn't sound like his friends cared about him. Letting him die like that. I think there's more to this story.

let me tell you a lil bit of how pomona cops work yesenia...2 years ago me and my brother were standing outside my house when two guys came up to us and started shooting my brother was shot in the chest and in the arm the one iin the chest was not even a half a inch away from the heart my brother was seriously injured and the cops took their time to get to our house when they finally did they kept interigating my brother asking him from wht gang he was and all this nonsense my brother isnt from any gang he dont have tattoos or anything so we kept saying he wasnt from a gang tht he needed medical help and you now wht the stupid cops said they said tht they werent gonna let the paramedics in till they got the whole story and wht had happen my brother could of died tht night his lungs were feeling up with blood we begged them to let the paramedicts see him tht i would tell them wht they wanted to hear and after half an hour the cops let the paramedics in my brother had to be airlifted to la hospital but an officer went on board with him in the helicopter trying to make him say tht he was from a gang but my brother isnt from a gang my brother was in the hospital for over a month draining blood out of his lungs...

91766, I suggest you file a lawsuit against the Pomona PD for what happened to your brother. You ought to seek an attorney and get advise from one of them to see if you have a case. It's unfortunate, the young male hispanics are assumed to be gang bangers. I know the vast majority are not, but there's a lot of ignorant cops out there that think otherwise.
