Nathaniel Byers, a 25-year-old black man, was stabbed to death Saturday, March 6, in the 11000 block of Zamora Street in Watts, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.
Ed Winter, a spokesman for the coroner's office, said Byers was stabbed during an altercation about 2:10 a.m. Byers staggered to a nearby residence and collapsed.
The authorities were called and Byers was taken to a hospital in Lynwood, where he died at 3:30 a.m., Winter said. Winter said that according to coroner's records, no suspect has been identified.

I remember seeing you for the first time at the family reunion. I, so wanted to get to know you, as I watched your silence and you were slightly removed from everyone. A shy young man I thought. I commented to you and your brothers, "What a find bunch of young black brothers your are." Your smile was kind of sheepish. You remained quiet and detached. You didn't know me, your uncle who lives near San Francisco. I do know how proud my brother is of you, nephew. I didn't get to tell you how hard by brother worked to get a son, after having very lovely girls. I grieve for you and your father...R.I.P.
