I have been looking for follow up information on this murder as well. Nolberto was killed in an apartment building just north of the Geisha House. I thought this murder would get a little more media attention but apparently it didn't.
The news reports at the time mentioned that Nolberto lived alone and was always seen leaving for work at the same time everyday. One news station reported that Nolberto was found naked and tied up in a chair. It didn't say how he died but it was presumed it was during some sort of assault. The police didn't release any more details.
A Hollywood mystery for sure but I don't think anyone involved is too anxious to share information.
